Sheep- Sheep are good money makers, but they do not give wool every day. When you buy your sheep you have to brush, talk and feed it everyday. After a a good amount of time, it will turn into an adult and you will be able to shear it for wool. Price 4,000G
Fish The fish are found in the various rivers and ponds around Mineral Village. You can keep fish in the pond on your farm to hold onto them as well. Buy fish food at the supermarket for 20G a meal if you choose to keep fish on the farm. Even if you have a lot of fish in your pond, you only need to put on fish food in a day. Feed them everyday, and after about 20 days, they will start reproducing. You can make your own fodder and not have to buy it. You can only make fodder in the summer, and to do it you must grow corn. Then go to the water-wheel mill thing next to the chicken coop and throw the corn into it and you'll get fodder!
Well, to win the Chicken Sumo, there's really not much of a strategy! You basically need to feed your chicken everyday. Pick the chicken with the most hearts to enter, and just try and win! Make sure to save the day before so if you really want to win, you can re-do the day.
Dog
Hopefully this will give you more information on the dog! So just read on to learn much more about it!
You have your dog from the beginning of the game. It is at first a puppy for 2 seasons, and in fall it will become an adult dog! You have to love and care for your dog the WHOLE game!
Many people seem to have trouble with this darned ball. Now, to get it, you don't need to go find Won. He will sell you the ball in early fall, so you don't need to worry about not buying it. Now, keeping track of the ball is pretty hard. Below are some guidelines to follow to be safe with your ball (lol!)
- Never throw the ball inside the house, it could get stuck somewhere(I speak from experience)
- Never throw the ball in the basket!
- Never throw the ball at an animal(like horses and cows)
- Never throw the ball in the shipping bin!
- Never throw the ball in the water!
- Restart the day.
- Leave it there and wait for Won to sell you another ball.
Raising the heart level for your dog is incredibly easy! There's only a few things you need to do..
- Pick up your dog everyday. When you put him down, a little heart bubble appears and he's happy.
- Never leave your dog outside in rain, but make sure to let it outside on sunny days.
- Whistle for your dog occasionally.
Dog races are hard to beat. You have to do the following things in order to train, but this is not a gaurantee you will win! If someone has any other strategies please e-mail them to me!
- Once your dog is old enough, and you get the ball, train with your dog everyday by throwing the ball and letting him retrieve it and bring it back to you.
- Whistle for your dog everyday. Try different things like standing on the opposite side of the fence so he jumps and stuff.
- Keep your dogs heart level up, it won't work with you in the race if it doesn't love you. The steps to do this are listed above.
In the second year, Barley will come to your house and talk about his dog. He'll ask if he can bring your dog to his house, say yes and your dog will be taken away to Barley's house. However, you can't just abandon it. You must visit it every once in a while and hug it just to keep it's heart level up. It will take a few weeks (I believe 2-3) before they have puppies. You aren't allowed to keep the puppies, but you are allowed to give one away. After this happens, I sort of forget, I think either you are allowed to take your dog home, or Barley drops off your dog.
Horse
Your horse does not come with the farm. On your first visit to Yodel Ranch(I suggest going as early as possible) you will be asked to take care of a pony. Agree and you'll find yourself in possession of a new pony! It's not old yet, it takes one year for it to be full-grown.
Ok, first things first. The stables are near the area near the barn, and it is the last building. It is small, but your horse will live there. It is suggested that you bring your horse out on sunny days, and bring it in on rainy days, but some people have problems moving your horse, here's what you should do so that you can do this.
- Build a pen directly outside the horse stables. Make it fairly small, about 4x4 or something. Make sure it is in line with the stables.
- Now, when you want to bring your horse out, first remove the log that is directly in the path of where the horse would walk out. Go into the stables and push your horse out. When you get outside keep pushing it and when it's inside the pen, close it.
- As long as you do not whistle for your horse, it will stay in it's pen. If you want to whistle for it, stand next to the pen, then when your done whistling, close it back up again.
- The day before a rainy day, brings your horse inside. It may take an hour. First, remove the log. Then, you have to get the horse in line with it by pushing. It could take a little while but it's worth it in the end. Finally you can just push your horse inside.
Raising the heart level for your horse is incredibly important. If you plan on keeping the horse, you have to make it have 8 hearts by the time it has been a year. Below are the steps I had taken to raise my horses level, I was able to get it to I believe 10 hearts by the end of the year (I got to keep it).
- As soon as you can afford it, buy the brush for your horse. After you get it, brush your horse everyday.
- Talk to your horse everyday.
- Whistle for your horse occasionally.
- Never leave it out in the rain, but bring it outside on sunny days.
Horse races cannot be won without your horse loving you. You also have to train it. Once your horse is an adult, take these steps..
- Whistle for your horse everyday. Get it to jump over fences and such.
- Continue brushing it and not leaving it out in the rain.
- Ride your horse everyday. Ride it around the farm a few times and jump over fences.
If your horse is taken away, don't worry too much about it, no need to restart the game. Simply plant tons of grass in your field, and Barley will stop by and comment you on them, and ask you to take care of a pony! I'm not sure if this pony can be taken away yet though.
Your horse doesn't really do much. The reason most people want one is to either win the horse race or gain more percentage points. The horse though, can also be used as a portable shipping bin. By throwing crops into it's saddlebags, they are automatically put into the shipping bin, which could be very useful. There are only a few problems, like if your horse moves when you throw it, but it's worth it.
Ok, well I hope this answers some questions! If you have any other information, please send it in!
