Links to all Harvest Moon guides will be found at the end of this guide. In particular, the Heart Events Guide will give you more detailed information about all the eligible girls. This guide will give a short biography of each character as well as items that he/she likes or dislikes. A schedule of the character's general movements will be included as well if possible. This is an ongoing project. Although I have most of the information needed, it has to be extrapolated from my game journals and added to the guide. Thank you for your patience. 19 January: I added a new section to this Guide. It is a Calendar of Daily Movements and gives the movements of characters in the valley day by day both on sunny days and on rainy days. It is incomplete at present, but should provide some helpful hints for a player who is trying to find a specific character on any day. All Ordinary Characters Barney Birthday: 4 Summer Barney is the Ringmaster for the Circus. He only appears after your child is born. Oddly enough, when he introduces himself, he will misspell both his name and the name of the Circus. He will tell you: 'Hello, there. I'm Burney. I'm the leader of the Burney Circus. One is the Priest at the Church in Mineral Town. The other is an Archaeologist in the Valley and it is he whom you will meet. He is your rival for Flora. Information about Carter the Archaeologist is given in the section devoted to your Rivals. Chris: Birthday: 20 Spring Chris is a Sports Announcer who lives with husband Wally and son Hugh. On Sunday afternoons when the weather is fine, you can find her with her husband and son on the beach. She leaves the Valley all other days to work in the City. He is fiercely independent but at heart a gentle man who loves Nature. You can find him early in the morning and late at night inside his caravan. In the morning, you can find him inside his house only until 7.00 a.m. At that time, he walks to the Beach and/or Goddess Spring when the weather is fine. You can find him standing or pacing in the area outside his caravan in the evening. For the most part, he can be found sitting at the end of Kate's bed in her bedroom, but you may meet him on the road one night. Daryl Birthday: 29 Summer Likes: all grasses, Eggs Daryl is an eccentric inventor who can appear quite intimidating to strangers. He actually is a kind, compassionate human being who befriends a mermaid and allows her to live in a bathtub in his basement. Daryl can be found inside his house early in the morning and late in the evening. When you have raised his Friendship Level, you will be able to find him in his house later in the morning and earlier in the evening. You will not be able to meet Leia the Mermaid until you have raised Daryl's FP level to 100 FP. Note that there will be no Event when the door to the basement becomes unlocked to allow you to meet Leia. You simply will be able to open it where previously the trap door would have been locked. After Leia returns to the sea, you will find her on Tuesdays at midnight at the shore, but if you marry some one else, you may experience events involving both Leia and Daryl later. Both he and Nina can be found inside their house early in the morning. They then spend some time outside in fine weather. Nina goes to Turtle Pond in the afternoon, while Galen can be found on the bridge. It is Galen who will give you a FISHING ROD when you visit him at his house on a fine Saturday between noon and 12.50 p.m. Make certain that you have not equipped any tool in your tool slot. Speak both to Galen and to his wife Nina. You then will experience an Event wherein he will give you your first Fishing Rod. Note that his Event will NOT occur on any Festival Day, including the Spring Thanksgiving Festival. It must be an ordinary sunny Saturday. Although Nina is the character who will knit the Starry Festival Stocking for you, if you marry and have a child before you raise her FP sufficiently to experience the Event, Nina then will die. Do not despair, however, as you still will be able to obtain the Stocking in an Event with Galen. Raise his Friendship to 200 FP and then enter his house on a sunny Winter morning to experience the Gift Event. Although his 'office' and home is in Mineral Town, he will take orders from you for construction and demolition by telephone. On Saturday, his day off, he comes to the Valley and can be found near the original Hot Spring until the afternoon. He then spends the evening at the Blue Bar. On Friday, he will be found at home with Kate. On rainy Fridays, he will be at home most of the day with her. You will find him at the Blue Bar on Friday night where he will complain of his lonely existence. Grant has expensive tastes. At the start of the game, he will be thrilled only with Wine purchased from Karen's Supermarket for 300G. He does like Bread, however, so that is the most practical gift for him if you are not rich enough to buy wine for him. Later, you will be able to cook some items for him. Well, not that I've got anything special planned...' Grey Birthday: 6 Winter Grey is one of the bachelors from Mineral Town who will visit the Valley if you insert a copy of FoMT/MFoMT into your DS. If you do not link the two games, he still will be available by telephone to take any orders for tool upgrades and Makers. If the link is made, he will visit the Valley only on Thursdays, his day off from work at the forge. He is your rival for Mary's affections although he cannot interfere with your courtship as there are no rival heart events for any of the Mineral Town girls. Information about Grey is given in the section devoted to Mineral Town Rivals. Hardy Dr. Hardy is the local doctor in Forget-Me-Not Valley. He has quite a reputation and taught Trent, the Doctor in Mineral Town. Hugh will tell you that Dr. Hardy was kidnapped 'by some bad men and genetically modified', but this may be nothing more than a juvenile attempt to explain the doctor's bizarre appearance. Unlike other inhabitants of the Valley, Dr. Hardy may be the original Doctor from A Wonderful Life, rather than a descendant. At 6.00 a.m., you can find Dr. Hardy in his house. On most days, he will walk to the Waterfall but on Saturdays, he performs his 'house calls'. You will find him Saturday morning in Romana's bedroom, and at 3.30 p.m., he will visit Galen and Nina at their home. Dr. Hardy is fanatical about bonsai and strives to cultivate bonsai that are superior to those in Galen's collection. Hugh likes to walk to the Goddess Spring and can be found there most days. On Sundays, the entire family goes to the beach and can be found near the benches. Kai is your rival for Popuri, although there are no rival heart events for Popuri in this game. You can find Kai in the guest room at 6.00 a.m. each day of Summer, at his stall at the beach during the day and in the lobby of the Inner Inn at night. They live in a tower in the southwest of the Valley and you can visit them there only by climbing a rope ladder. They are very found of video and board games, but you cannot play these games with them as you could in A/Another Wonderful Life. They can be found in their tower or outside in the courtyard where the fireworks are prepared for action. One night each week, they both can be found together in the Blue Bar. On Mondays, Kassey will cross the bridge at 3.00 p.m. going east and will tell you: 'I'm off to go buy vegetables! I need to keep myself strong!' At 3.20 p.m. he joins his twin brother Patrick and Galen in the storeroom. Vesta will not be there, but Marlin will. Kate Birthday: 15 Summer Kate lives with her father Grant in the row of houses north of the Inn. Their house is the middle one, sandwiched between the homes of Wally and Dr. Hardy. Like Hugh, Kate will be a young child when you first move to the Valley but will grow through the years, becoming a young woman in time. Kate can be found at 6.00 a.m. on the 2nd floor of her house with her father. She spends her afternoons at the Villa. He can be found near the field to the north of the Sprite Company Tree from 4.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. during the Winter. Loves: all Flowers (+9) 'Moffaa! Mofaa mofaa. Mofu!' for flowers 'Mofaa! Mo, mo, mofaa.' for egg Murrey Birthday: 29 Fall Murrey is a homeless chap, a wanderer who voluntarily left the urban lifestyle to live 'off the land'. He is an unashamed begger who claims no home other than the 'forest'. He is rather filthy, with creatures buzzing about his head at all times. If you fall unconscious when he is about, he will rescue you, but will pocket some of your money in the process. In AWL/AnWL, Murray would raid your freezer and storeroom without any hesitation. Murrey basically cheerfully will accept any item that is pleasantly edible, apart from wild grasses. He loves dairy products and eggs best. He can be found at the Villa many afternoons but stands near the Goddess Pond most often. They are eccentric inventors who live atop a tower in the southwest area of the Valley. They create all fireworks for the region and organise all fireworks displays. They love to play games and when you find them at home, they usually will be involved in a game of some sort. You only can visit the house by climbing a rope ladder. They will be found in their tower at 6.00 a.m. each morning. Later, they work in their walled courtyard on new fireworks. One evening each week, they both can be found in the Blue Bar drinking. Then: 'I think my brother still wants to make those fireworks. I'm a little scared of them.' Rick: Birthday: 27 Fall Rick is Popuri's brother. Although in FoMT/MFoMT, Popuri often complained that he allowed her no responsibility with respect to the business, in this game, Popuri takes all telephone orders for poultry and poutry-related products and presides over the Duck Festival. On Sundays when the Poultry Farm is shut, both Rick and Popuri visit the Valley. Rick can be found in the 'boys' guest room' on the second floor of the Inn at 6.00 a.m. on Sundays mornings and next to the greenhouse staring at Vesta's northern field later in the morning as well as afternoon. Rick is in love with Karen, although there are no Rival Heart Events for Karen in this game, so he cannot interfere with your courtship of her. If you speak to Rick while he is standing next to the greenhouse, he will tell you: 'My mother is quite feeble. They say it's hereditary... I really need to work hard and support my family.' More information about Rick will be found in the section dealing with Mineral Town Rivals. Romana: Romana is an extremely rich old woman who owns the Villa in the Northwest corner of the Valley. She is fond of practical jokes and is very strong-willed and opinionated but many events involve her and it is a good idea to raise her friendship level as quickly as possible. As all flowers will raise her FP by 9 points, it is very easy to win her friendship. Her butler Sebastian and her granddaughter Lumina live at the Villa with her. She never actually leaves the grounds of the Villa, but takes her 'constitutional' in the courtyard on sunny afternoons. She can be found at 6.00 a.m. each morning in her bedroom and in the late afternoon and evening, listens to Lumina play the piano in the main parlour of the Villa. On Saturday mornings, Dr. Hardy performs his 'house call' regularly to assess Romana's health. On this morning, she stays in her bedroom, attended by Sebastian.
